DaybreakFolio welcomes outlines for World Affairs, Explainers, Economy, Culture and Science & Technology. We are looking for a question worth explaining. Why does a particular border keep coming back into the news? What does a new trade rule mean for the countries on each end of it? How did a scientific result turn into a diplomatic argument?
Contact us with your angle before you write a finished piece. Tell us which sources you will use, which of them you can reach directly, and which parts rely on translation.
In the piece itself, keep what you observed apart from what you infer. Quotations need attribution. Disclose any funding, employer or affiliation connected to the subject.
We will not run unsupported allegations or interviews that did not happen. We also turn down writing that treats a whole country or community as if everyone in it thinks alike.
